CHAKRA In sanatan/Hindu and tantric/yogic traditions and other belief systems chakras are energy points or knots in the subtle body. Chakras are part of the subtle body, not the physical body, and as such are the meeting points of the subtle (non-physical) energy channels, called nadiis. Nadiis are channels in the subtle body through which the life force (prana), or vital energy moves. Various scriptural texts and teachings present a different number of chakras. There are many chakras in the subtle human body according to the tantric texts, but there are seven chakras that are considered to be the most important ones. Their name derives from the Sanskrit word for "wheel" or "turning", but in the yogic context a better translation of the word is 'vortex or whirlpool Chakra is a Sanskrit word which literally translates into a spinning wheel. Each of these chakras corresponds to a particular color-coded vibrational frequency in the universe which influences our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. When our chakras are perfectly aligned with the universal flow of energy, every aspect of our life becomes harmonious and joyful. We reclaim perfect health, and our love and passion for life becomes renewed.
HOW CHAKRAS AFFECT US? ~The chakras are constantly rotating and vibrating. ~The activities in the them influence our: ~Body shape, Glandular processes, Chronic physical ailments, Thoughts, and Behaviour.
When one (or more) of the chakra is blocked and the energy does not flow harmoniously through them, or it is wide open, it will result in imbalance that is manifested in all areas of life.
Each chakra is expressed on the physical body in one of the endocrine glands that regulate physical and emotional processes in the body. The imbalance in the chakra will also be expressed in the endocrine gland linked to it.
HOW CAN WE BALANCE AND HEAL THE CHAKRAS? We can influence our chakras, our health, and our lives by using different techniques such as:
Meditation~The purpose of the chakra balancing meditation is to open and clear the chakras the Reiki way. It will align higher frequency energies and also purify/release any stored negative energy from your body/aura.
Color Therapy~Color is all around us from the time we were born and it is affecting our everyday life in many ways. By becoming aware of the power of color and its effects on our emotions, we can learn how to make positive changes in our lives. The color of your cloths reflects your personality, and influences your mood, it affects your home, your workplace, also our schools and hospitals. Color can be used in healing to bring balance and harmony within the psyche and the body. Depending what color we choose for healing, the invisible vibration of color can relax or stimulate us.
Affirmations~Using the power of affirmations is one of the most effective ways to balance our chakras. Our thoughts create our reality, and by regularly practicing positive chakra balancing affirmations, we can achieve astonishing results in our lives
Food~When you think about your chakra system you probably aren't considering the types of foods that you consume. Because our chakras are energy vortexes and invisible to most of us one might well imagine that chakras would thrive on energy, prayer, or other such spirutuality...you know, those things that we can't see with the human eye. However, the chakras cannot sustain our human body without our help. It is important to feed and nourish the flesh in order to help support and fuel our chakras. Whenever one or more of your chakras is misaligned you might do well to look and see if your are not eating or possibly overeating the foods that fuel that particular chakra.
Aromatherapy~Some of today’s most serious health concerns such as heart disease, anxiety disorders, depression, obesity and immunity disorders, are caused by or are related to stress. Both conventional and non-conventional health professionals agree that lifestyle changes and stress management are essential to improving and maintaining our overall health. Sensory input can stimulate our emotional and physiological responses. In today’s world we are constantly receiving sensory stimuli. On any given day, our eyes are overworked by computer screens, fluorescent light, television images and late-night driving. Our ears are stimulated by loud machines, the hum of a computer or refrigerator, television, a blaring radio, telephone conversation, sometimes all in the same room. Even our taste buds are overworked by the types of foods we eat. Likewise, our noses are bombarded with automobile exhaust, cleaning products and toxic chemicals. Believe it or not, these types of stress affect our nervous system and result in physical disorders. The best way to relieve stresses and bring your body back into balance is through natural therapies such as Aromatherapy and Reiki. Of the five senses, our sense of smell is the most primitive and most closely associated with our emotions and how our body respond to them. Together with a balanced diet, nutrition, adequate exercise and water, Aromatherapy can help you achieve a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. It can become a part of your daily routine.
Sounds~In the ancient hindu traditions which gave birth to the tantras, or vehciles of union,we find that light and sound are closely associated. Light is the base of the universe and sound is that which gives it shape, resulting in form. Hence the world comes into being using music and the sanskrit language. She rides upon a white swan named homsa, which is the sound of the breath moving in and out of the body. In this creation myth we have the upper three chakras characterized; brow-sight-light, throat-voice-sound, heart-lungs-breath. It is through the use of visualization, sound and prana that we can open and energize our chakras. Cleansing and aligning them ourselves in our own time and space. Crystals & Gemstones~Traditional remedies, such as herbalism, homeopathy and crystal therapies, can be seen as natural alternatives for, or complementary with modern drugs. With the recent swing toward holistic and alternative medicine, many people are turning to crystals not only to help cure their ailments, but significantly, to maintain optimum health.
